NEW STEEL HOUSES

FRENCH PROBLEM SOLVED. (Sun Cable.) Received Sept 30. 11 p.m. PARIS, Sept. 29. The Prefect of the Seine announces that steel houses can be turned out within eight minutes and require only a few hours to assemble. They will be used to solve Paris’ housing problem. The new houses will replace thousands of wooden hovels on the outskirts of the city. The dwellings contain bathrooms, electric light and central heating. They will be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The walls are constructed of hollow steel cells encased in parallel steel bars.
