General situation —A moderate anti-eyclono is crossing northward of the Dom.idon. A slight low pressure wave crossed the South Island to-day but the principal depression i s still located over the central Tasman. Forecast—Winds: South-westerly north of Auckland and elsewhere westerly but veering gradually to northerly and freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters): Generally smooth to moderate, but rising later in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Weather: Mainly fair but some scattered showers in the western districts of the South Island and about Foveaux Strait. Moderate temperatures. “CHRONICLE” OFFICE READING.
