SPRING BLOSSOMS
MANGAWEKA BULB SHOW RECORD IN TAKINGS. The Mangaweka Buib Show and Bazaar was held in Oddfellows Hall and was a huge success. The takings were a record and much thanks are due to the stewards, stall-holders and all others who carried out their duties so capably. The show was officially opened by Mr Gordon Elliott, ex-M.P. The judges for the various sections were Mr A. Gibson (flowers), Mrs Haythorne (decorative), Mrs Kitcat (sewing). Mesdames W. F. Stevens and A. G. Johnston (home industries). The stewards were as follows:—•. Flowers: Mrs J. Guthrie and Mr L. Weston; sewing: Mesdames J. Graham and D. Watkins; home industries: Mesdames M. Graham and R. H. Guthrie; decorative: Mrs Pairman.
