WIRELESS AND CABLE
BUSINESS WITH AUSTRALIA [ Australian Press Aasn. i CANBERRA, Aug. 21. Approximately fifteen million words were sent from Australia to th< United Kingdom by cable and beam last year, ending March 31. Although 81 per cent, of cheaper classes of traffic went by the beam, two cable companies, Pacific and Eastern, handled more traffic in the aggregate in other classes of traffic. This is interpreted to imply that a larger number of btisiness firms are willing to pay the extra cost of cablegrams in order to secure what is regarded as greater reliability and secrecy compared with the wireless method.
Press messages were almost equally divided between cable and beam.
