THE FORTNIGHTLY SALE WELLINGTON, Aug. 16. Messrs Dalgety aud Co. report:— “The usual fortnightly sale of sheep skins, hides, tallow, and sundries was held this afternoon before a largo attendance of buyers., “Sheepskins.—Our catalogue was an attractive one and competition generally was keen, especially for fine wools which were id to id per lb. better than lute rates. Other grades sold about on a par. “Hides. —We offered some nyce lines of butchers’ hides, prices for heavies, medium and light weights being par to l-8d per lb lower than previous quotations. Kip and yearlings were in request and sold par to id per lb better. Calf were slow of sale, values being slightly easier. ' “Tallow.—Good supplies were submitted, prices generally being unchanged. “The following is the range of prices :• Sheepskins Halfbred 12$d, fine crossbred lOd to 124 d, medium crossbred 9|d to Hid, coarse crossbred 9d to Hid, half-wools 7Ad to Hid, quarter-wools to 10id, pelts 6id to 10id. Salted. — Quarter woojs to 6s, 2d, half wools 6s lOd to Bs, threequarter wools 7s to 9s 3d, full wools 8s to 10s 7d, extra large 10s lid, lambs 4s 6d to 5s 4d. Hides Ox 33/441bs 7d to 7id, ox 45/521bs 6 7-8 d to 7id, ox 53/591bs 6 7-8 d to 8 l-Bd, ox 60/691bs 7 5-8 d to Bid, ox 70 lbs and over 4d to BJd, cow 33/391bs 6 7-8 d to 7id, cow 40/481bs s|d to 7 5-8 d cow 491bs and over 6d to ’7d, kip 25/321bs 6d to Sid, kip 17/241bs 6}d to Old, yearling 11/161bs 9|d, calf 9/101bs 9d to 9id, calf 6/81bs lOd to 13Jd, calf l/51bs 7|d to 12id. Tallow In casks 275, in tins 22s to 28s. Sundries Cow tails 141 d to 20d, horsehair 17d.“
