WANGANUI’S WANTS
(Continued.) Wanganui wants a few more things besides the things she’s got So hang expense just go ahead and . let her have the lot. First of all she wants a Harbour built outside the River Bar. Tfyen she wants a Airport and a Still for treating Tar. Two Northern Trams are wanted next I expect they’re for the Stud Inbreeding is disastrous, you must keep up the blood. A Bike rack at the Library and a light outside as well They’ll want some cops with padlocks and give each Bike a Cell Bikes ain’t faithful like a dog they’re fickle I should say Change their owners now and then I s ’pose it’s lust their way. Well since the Winter Show was on and Planes were all the go We’ll have to have an Airport but it’s going to take some dough There’s quite a lot of sand to shift to make the Airport flat A road to build round Landguard Bluff So pass around the hat. Let us grab a few odd million from the seventy to come And if the interest ain’t too high Wouldn’t Wanganui hum. If a Sum could only be arranged to wipe out all our loans And let us start out fresh again t ’would save a lot of groans. Let us cut the jolly harbour out Run rails from Town to Sea, And draw the Liners up on wheels quite easy don’t you see. Look at the Railway Freights we’d save from Castlecliff to Town And Taxi fares for Stevedores Who’re motored up and down. We really wouldn’t want a wharf We’d only want a store Where boats could tip their cargoes out then slip away for more. But what we’re really short of to give this town a Boost Is twice the population for without which we ar 0 goosed. GINGER.
