TARANAKI TEAMS
FIFTEENS FOR SATURDAY MATCHES WITH WANGANUI The sole selector for the Taranaki Rugby Union, Mr W. A. Guy, has announced the personnel for the teams who will represent / Taranaki in the matches at New Plymouth und Wanganui next Saturday, these being the return games for the King’s Birthday matches. The Taranaki and Wanganui A teams will play at New Plymouth and the B teams will meet at Spriggens Park. Referring to the Taranaki selections the Taranaki Daily News says that the strength of both teams is a tribute to the strength of Taranaki football, showing that there is no dearth of players of class in the province. The B team is a very strong one; indeed, in many cases there will be diversion of opinion as to whether some of the players should not change places with those in the A team, so even are the players concerned. Moreover, there are a number of other players, notably Opunake forwards, who must have been knocking very strongly at the door. Both teams should uphold the reputation of the province, and it is pleasing to note, too, that every player will have to put his best foot forward to retain his place. The teams are: —
