The Airport Road. A preliminary survey is being made of the proposed road to the air port site at Landguard Bluff. It is considered that the best route to follow is along the river at the foot of the cliffs. No engineering difficulties will be presented and the road will be formed sufficiently above high water mark to eliminate the possibility of damage by floods.. Private Bus Runs.
In anticipation of li cuts'’ in the bus and tram services, several enterprising residents in localities affected are discussing the pros and cons of the establishment of private bus. Speaking of this matter with a “Chronicle” reporter yesterday, one man pointed out that there should be no difficulty in arranging routes that would not conflict with the existing tram service or with that retained by th e Council Aero Club.
A meeting of the Wanganui Aero Club was held on Monday evening. Business was mainly of a routine nature. Mr C. P. Brown was authorised to take steps to have the constitution finalised and the necessary formalities gone through to give the club the status of an incorporated society. A sub-committee was entrusted with the task of selecting a club badge and a further committee was appointed to consider the purchase of a ’plane.
