THE NEW GRAND
To-day and to-night will be the final screening of Paramount’s splendid feature “The Wolf Song.” The all-star cast headed by Gary Cooper and the beautiful Mexican actress, Lupe Velez give a finished performance and the story will thrill you with its intensity and beauty. Cooper is a big blonde, giant of the California mountains, incapable of any fatigue, ever moving and attractive and attracted to women. In a public dance hall, he meets a beautiful high-spirited Spanish girl, daughter of a proud and wealthy family. She is engaged to a young Spanish grandee, but hates him and is anxious to see some wild life. She is attracted to Cooper who practically kidnaps her and marries her, carrying her away .to the mountains. Soon afterwards, he becomes engaged in a fight with Indians and returns to find his bride gone. Her family has come and persuaded her to leave him. How he follows her and wins her back is told in a continually moving actionpacked melodrama. Supporting this picture is Paramount’s comedy, cartoon and two very interesting gazettes. An added attraction is “Songs of Scotland” synchronised by special musical numbers. A complete change will be presented to-morrow.
