Mr A. G. Bignell is on a visit to Wellington. Mr P. G. Kelly, of Wanganui, ig at present on a visit to Wellington. Mr J. H. Lee, of Belmont, Wellington, was in Wanganui on business yesterday. He returns to the capital today. At the Rotry Club’s luncheon yesterday, the vocalists were Messrs Tipper and Hambley, who contributed two enjoyable duets. Rotarian V. Gordon, of Masterton, and Mr J. Irving, of Masterton were guests at the Wanganui Rotary Club’s luncheon yesterday. Mr J. Patterson, of the Wanganui Harbour Board, is at present laid up with influenza. He was unable to attend a meeting of the Board yesterday. Mr 1 A. P. Melville, of “Renagour.” Fordcll, left Wanganui yesterday for Wellington, where he will attend the New Zealand Farmers’ Union Conference. Messrs T. Currie (president) and W. Morrison, of the Wanganui Provincial centre of the Farmers’ Union, are at present in Wellington attending the conference of the parent body. Guests at Foster’s Hotel include:— Mr Marden and Mr J. Lee, Wellington; Mr 8. G. Smith M.P., New Plymouth; Mr L. C. Piercy, and Mr C. H. Sawyer, Wellington and Mr P. Keller, Stratford. The funeral of the late Mr H. J. Kendall took place at the Aramoho Cemetery yesterday afternoon, when many paid last respects to a highly esteemed citizen. A church service was conducted at the residence, by the Rev. C. C. Harrison, assisted by the Rev. W. J. Olphert, both of whom later officiated at the graveside. There were many floral tributes. The pall bearers were Mesfrrs W. Corby, E. Brown, E. Marsh, H. Bryder, C. Hogg and S. V. Smith.
