DISCOVERY OF DRUG
CONSIGNED TO EMBASSY [ Australian Press Assn. ] LONDON, July 17. Consternation reigns in the French Foreign Office, and also in the diplomatic corps, says tho Paris correspondent of the Daily Mail, following the discovery that four wooden cases from Germany, claimed by Sirdar Nabi Khan, a close friend of ex-King Amanulla — he was formerly the’Afghan Minister at Paris and is now Minister at Moscow—contained £6OOO worth of heroin and cocaine. The cases were labelled “Secondhand clothing, I’ and were claimed as part of the “diplomatic valise.’> One fell off a lorry while they were being taken to the Embassy, revealing a white powder which was analysed as heroin. ,
