CAR OVER BRIDGE

OCCUPANTS ESCAPE DEATH [ Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, June 24. A motor-car driven by Frank Hutter assistant sporting announcer for IYA, crashed through the rail of an overhead bridge in Khyber Pass Road at 11 a.in. and dropped on the railway track 20ft below. Hutter was accompanied by W. Penton, relay operator. Hutter sustained a fractured arm, but Penton escaped with a slight scratch. Both suffered badly from shock. The car’ s fall was broken by a steep bank, otherwise the result would probably have been fatal to both men. The car was badly damaged.
