A SORDID STORY
VISIT TO A CHINESE SHOP MEN AND WOMEN CHARGED. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, June 2. A sordid story of men’s association with two women, of a visit to a Chinese fruit shop, of drinking and of immorality between two Chinese and the women in question while the theft of £lO took place, was related at the Magistrate’s Court to-day when Stanley Symon, aged 20, Eric Cavanagh, aged 24, and Roy Clark aged 19, were charged with being idle and disorderly, and Symon and Clark with the theft of £lO, the property of Charlie H. Chick, and Eric Cavanagh with receiving £7 knowing it was dishonestly obtained. Clark and Cavanagh, on the theft charges, were sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and Symon was remanded for a report from the probation officer. Alice McLeod, charged with being idle and disorderly, was told by the Magistrate that she had disgraced her sex by her conduct. She was discharged. Daphne Hermansen, similarly charged, and Eric Cavanagh (on the receiving charge) were remanded till tomorrow. J
