MATAROA AND HER MINIUS En route from New Zealand to London, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamers Mataroa and Henuinius are reported to have cleared Colon last Friday. The Mataroa was dispatched from Wellington April 13 and the Herminius from Port Chalmers on April 9. WARNING TO MARINERS The Secretary of the General Post Office advises that the following navigation warning was broadcast from Suva Radio at 9 p.m. on May 7: “Alorni lower light, red, is reported to be out of order. Mariners should approach Morni Bay with caution.’’

The Calm loads at Lyttelton to-day, Wellington to-morrow, and Wanganui on Wednesday. The- Storm is scheduled to load at Oamaru and Timaru on Monday, Lyttelton Tuesday, thence Wellington, Picton. Wanganui, due on 18th instant at Wanganui. The Gale is in dock at Port Chalmers. The Baron Maiclny is due at Auckland on May 27 with sulphur from Galveston; her other ports of call are Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, New Plymouth and Wanganui. The Tregenna is expected to arrive at Wanganui this week with Nauru phosphate. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Wanganui agents for the S.S. and A. Line report: The motor vessel Karamea is due to load in the Wanganui roadstead today for London. The vessel’s local loading consists of 22,000 freight carcases of meat and a quantity of general ca rgo. BENHOLM FROM NEW YORK An arrival in the stream at Auckland at 4 o’clock on Thursday afternoon was the cargo steamer Benholm from New York. The vessel is under charter to the A. and A. Line and brings a cargo of cars, farm implements and general merchandise, all of which was loaded at New York. She cleared that port on March 3, put into Norfolk (Virginia) on March 4 for bunkers, and from there made a direct passage to Auckland, via Panama. Moderate weather was enjoyed throughout the trip. At Norfolk the Benholm loaded .1500 tons of coal in four hours. This is good going even for Norfolk, where patent shutes are used in coaling. PORT NAPIER FOR HOME At 5 o’clock on Saturday afternoon the C. and D. Line expected to dispatch the steamer Port Napier from" Wellington for London, via Montevideo. HAURAKI FOR MELBOURNE The Union Company advises that the motor-ship Hauraki was to leave Wellington on Saturday for Melbourne and Adelaide to complete her discharge of Pacific Coast cargo. PHORUS FROM SINGAPORE The Shell Company’s tanker Phorus arrived in the stream at Auckland on Friday from Singapore. After the tanker Daghestan sailed, the Phorus was to berth at the Western Wharf to land a portion of her oil into the company’s tanks at Freeman’s Bay. RAISDALE REPORTS According to a radio message received by the Auckland office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, the steamer Raisdale is expected to arrive at Auckland to-morrow, May 14, from Antwerp. The vessel is bringing a cargo of basic slag for discharge at Auckland. TARANAKI LEAVES SYDNEY Cable advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the motor-ship Taranaki left Sydney on Thursday for Bluff, where she is due on Monday to commence loading for Home. Later she fills up at Port Chalmers, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Gisborne and Auckland. She is due ae Aucklland on June 9 and is scheduled to sail finally from that port on June 12 for London, via Panama, TAMAROA TO LOAD The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Tamaroa arrived at Wellington on Wednesday morning from London, via Auckland, to complete discharge. The vessel will leave Wellington to-morrow to load at Lyttelton and Napier, and is due back at Wellington on May 26 to fill up. The Tamaroa will sail finally from Wellington at 6 a.m. on June 8 for Southampton and London, via Panama and Curacoa.
