Apart from this entry we sold in conjunction with Messrs Dalgety and Co. ami Abraham and Williams on behalf of Messrs Williams and Sons, a splendid lino of 140 Holstein steers. They were a very attractive lot which speaks highly for this well-known breeder. There was a very large attendance of buyers, many from outside districts and bidding was brisk throughout. Wo made a total clearance at prices in excess of recent sales. We quote: 100 20-mOnth P.A. steers £8 4s, Holstein, £7, Shorthorn £6 to £7, P.A. weaner steers £6 2s to £6 18s, P.A. weaner heifers £4 17s Cd. 20-month P.A. empty heifers £6 10s to £8 Is, L’A-year P.A. steers £8 to £9 17s, Holsteins £9, 3>j-year Holstein steers £lO 12s, forward bullocks £lO 10s to £ll, heavy weights £l2 to £l4 15s, fat cows £9 to £ll 15s.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having an entry of some «80 head of cattle at the Taihape Cattle Fair held on Thursday, the 2nd instant. Included in the offering were a number of pens of w_c.ll bred young steers and heifers and also some specially good lines of weaner steers, A line of 135 well-bred Hereford weaner steers sold on account of J. F. Studholme, Esqu., realised £6 2s to £(» 7 S . There was a large attendance and competition was keen throughout, all lines changing hands. THE FEILDING SALE Messrs Dalgety and Company Ltd. report having a very good yarding of both fat and store sheep at their Feilding sale on Friday. There was keen competition for sheep and a total clearance effected. There was also a fair yarding of cattle including a good entry of dairy cows and heifers which met with fairly keen competitions: Fat lambs 225, 22s lid, 24s Id. fat ewes 24s 4d to 275, fat wethers 33s 9d, small lens of extra good fat maiden ewes 38s, small pen s of extra good fat wethers £2 2s. £2 3s, empty ewes 18s 2d, 4 and 5 year ewes r.w. S.D.R. 27s 3d to 29s Id, b.f lambs 15s Bd, 18s to 19s 2d, wether lambs 17s 4d, to 18s 7d, medium lambs 12s to 14s 7d, cull lambs 5 S to 10s, small 2-th. wethers 28s 7d, springing heifers in lines £8 10s, £8 15 to £9. dairv cows £B, £8 10s, £9, £lO, £ll 10s, £ll 15s, Jersey weaner heifcr s £4 Ids, empty cows £3 10s, £4. £4 7s, £4 10s to £4 15s. 2* year steers £G 10s. £7. 31 year Hereford bullocks £lO 10s. fat cow’s £6, £6 ss, £6 15s, £7 10s, £8 10s. light fat heifers £7 10s. £B. Messrs Levin and Co. Ltd., report that at Feilding sale on Friday a good entry of sheep and cattle camo forward and a total clearance was made under the hammer, with tho exception of one small pen of rattle, at prices generally at. late rates. Wo sold a line of good conditioned two tooth ewes running with Southdown ram R at 42s 7d, while a good line of 4 and 5 year ewes realised 30s Bd. A good line of wether lambs sold at 23s 10d. All fat sheep and lamhs offered met a good market and sold well up to late rates. Messrs Abraham and WilliaWis, Ltd. report on Feilding sale, Fridav, May 3. There was a very fair yarding of both sheep and cattle which mot with a ready sale. Fat lambs eame forward in large numbers. The balance of Huyarding consisted mostly of good owes in lamb and store lambs. Cattle sold at late rates.
