The vessel’s local loading consists of 22,000 freight careases of meat and a quantity of general cargo. The John loads at Lyttelton to-day; Wellington on Wednesday; Wanganui Thursday; sailing same day for New Plymouth. Messrs Johnston and Co. report: — The Inaha returns to Wellington today. The Arapawa is due at Wanganui on Monday from Onehunga. Messrs A. S. Burgess and Co. agents for the Federal Steam Navigation Coy., Ltd., advise that the following steamers are scheduled to sail from Liverpool: — The Devon is due in the roadstead on May 14 from Nev.’ Plymouth, to load for London, Glasgow, Manchester and Liverpool. The Cambridge is to load in the roadstead on Alay 15 for New York, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. TRANS PACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The Waikawa left Union Bay. B.C. on Sunday for San Francisco and Los Angeles, thence to Apia, Melbourne, and Sydney. She leaves San Francisco to-morrow, Los Angeles on May 9, and is due at Apia on May 26. The Waiteniata left Levuka on April 24 for Vancouver .where she is due on May 15, and proceeds thence to San Francisco, Los A-ngeles. Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. The Waihemo left Suva on Tuesday for Apia, on Friday, and left on Tuesday for Apia, thence Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth and Bluff. She was due at .Apia yesterday and at Vancouver on May 23. The Hauraki, from Pacific Coast ports, is due at Auckland to-morrow, thence to Wellington, Melbourne, and Adelaide, and returns to Vancouver direct from Adelaide. The Waiotapu, en loute from Pacific Coast ports, left I’apeete on April 19, and was at Wellington on Wednesday, thence to Lyttelton, Melbourne, and Sydney, and returns to Vancouver, via Fanning Island. AUCKLAND BUILT TUG Messrs Rieharclson and Company, of Napier, have taken delivery of the small Diesel engined tug Kuri, which has been built in Auckland by Messrs W. G. Lowe and Son, Ltd., specially for the Napier service. The Kuri is the first Diesel engined tug to bo built in Auckland. It has 75-9 h.p. Fairbanks Morse 3-cylind'er direct reversal engines, which were fitted by the Parker Engineering and Foundry Company,
