A SICK CREW

THE MAUI POMARE’S MEN [ Per Press Association. J AUCKLAND, April 5. The Alaui Pomare, with 22 influenzastricken crew (out of a complement of 40), came out of dock to-day and anchored in the stream pending a conference between the External Affairs Department and the Hospital Board regarding the disposition of the cases. Dr. Hughes, medical officer of health at Auckland, returning from a lengthy visit to the Alaui Pomare, stated that the doctor who was treating 23 patients on board, would not consent to the removal to Alotuihi. Dr. Hughes concurred because the patients are isolated on board, though part of the accommodation is not of the best- Only one or two of the patients are running fairly high temperatures. A second nurse has been sent out to the vessel at the anchorage. 4
