BAPTIST BIBLE CLASS CAMP
HOLIDAY AT PALMERSTON NORTH 'The members of the Wellington Baptist Bible Class spent thc Easter holidays under canvas at Palmerston North near the Esplanade. There were 106 representatives from classes at Wanganui, New Plymouth, Hawera, Napier, Hastings, Wairoa, as well as Wellington. 'The camp proved most successful un dor the presidency of Air G. G. Scott, assisted by many workers. The Rev. Eric Batts (Lyall Bay) was the principal speaker, preaching on th ( > Sunday evening. 'The sports meeting was held on Saturday afternoon, and tho Berhampore class gained the most points, thus winning the Harry Wilson Shield. Thc Vivian Street class (Wellington) were thc runners-up. Air K. Patience, Berhampore. won the junior championship and Air A. Carter, Vivian Street, won the senior championship. At the oratory contests, Air Cecil Wallis (Island Bay) was the winner of thc junior sestion, ami Mr Al. Nelson (Hastings) won the senior contest, thus acquiring the Ediiu?id(»s memorial cup. Thc annual meeting of the District Union was held at camp, and a satisfactory report of the many activities ■a;..-, presented by the secretary (Mr H. A. Harris). Several remits for progressive movement wore carried for submission to the Dominion Union. Among these was a proposal for a Dominion camp next Easter to celebrate the semi-jubilee of the formation of the first Dominion Union.
