RAPANUI CLUB NIXON CUP GAMES POSTPONED Owing to the quickstep at the band contest on Saturday, Nixon Cup games have been cancelled. The green, however, will be ready far play for those who cannot attend the bands’ function. The following are the results of the Nixon Cup games played last Saturday versus Wanganui West; Wanganui West playets being mentioned first in each instance: Melville, Campbell, White Anderson 19 v. Roberts, Billinghurst, Summervill, F. Handley 17. Swan, Copeland, Moir, Lamont 16 v. R. S. Brown, Darbyshire, Johnson, T. F. Brown 26. Dr. Skerman, Grant, Watson, Wilson 19 v. Morrison, Stewart, A. Handley, G. Handley 13. Totals. —Wanganui West 54; . apanui 56. Gordon Cup. T. F. Brown rnd Willis 19 v. A. Handley and G. Handley 15. R. S. Brown and Johnson 17 v. Park and Low 11. Morrison and F. Handley 12 v. R. S. Brown and Johnson 17. The club will play a game against Wanganui East to-day for the Turn Cup. M
WANGANUI CENTRE COMING EVENTS. At a meeting of the Wanganui Bowling Centre, it was decided that owing to the band contest the Nixon Cup games set down for Saturday next be postponed and a suitable date be fixed to play the games later in the season. It was also decided that the champion of champion games be played on March 13, the champion pairs on March 14, and the Gordon Cup on March 21. The Dominion Association have asked for the names of players who are prepared to play in the Fiji tournament to be held in July next. Players arc reminded that the entries for the Easter -jurnament close with the hon. secretary on March 19.
