THIEVES’ GOOD HAUL
JEWELLER'S SHOP BURBLED (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 9. A daring burglary was committed last night in the premises of E. J. Townsend, a jeweller, in George Street, resulting in tho loss of £3OO worth of stock, including the entir c stock of rings and watches, besides gold chains, silver cigarette cases ami fountain pens. An unsuccessful search was made for the keys of th c safe, which contained about £4O in cash. Entrance was gained by breaking a back door off its hinges and sawing through tho lower panels of tho sido door connecting the shop with a pas-sage-way. Thc adjoining shop of F. Lawson, a bookseller, and a tailoring workroom, occupied by R. G. Tyrell, were also entered, but nothing was taken
