RAILWAY CROSSINGS TAKE TOLL ONCE MORE
TWO WOMEN KILLED VIEW OF LINE HIDDEN BY ROADSIDE WEEDS [Per Press Association.] HAMILTON, Jan. 1 29. A car containing five people returning from holidays was within 100 yards of their home at Horotiu when it was struck by the Roto-rua-Auckland express this afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon a car driven by John De Latour, of Grange Hills, South Canterbury, was struck by a train at Weedons, and Phyllis Benson, aged 14, died of her injuries. Of the other six occupants, Mrs de Latour is suffering from injuries to the head and back and her condition is serious, Josephine Benson, aged 4, has her condition is critical, John De Laa compound fracture of the left hip and tour, aged 2.8, has injuries to the face and body and his condition is serious, and Mira Benson, Cyril De Latour and Lenora Benson ar e suffering minor injuries, »
