FRENCH MINISTRY AGAIN IN DANGER

SALARY OF DEPUTIES POINCARE OPPOSES APPROVED INCREASE (Australian P.ess Assn. —United Service) PARIS, Dee. 29. The Ministry is regarded as again in peril. M. Poincare opposed the raising of the salaries of deputies. Some Senators left the Senate before the debate, when the proposal was carried by 140 votes to 107. Thc Chamber of Deputies has already approved. Discontent has also been worked up because M. Poincare refused to lend his authority to shield M. Klotz or to stifle possible reactions in the Gazette du France scandal.

There remains the religious question, which is always a danger in the Ministry. The Daily Express is of opinion that M. Poincare will resign early in thc New Year.

Flotz, before the examining magistrate, declared he was a victim of his own imprudence. He was firmly convinced when he drew the cheques that, they would be met. He relied on the money coming in and he had not intended to swindle anyone.
