“FINDERS KEEPERS”
One of the greatest of all novelists, Mary Robert Rinehart, wrote the story of Laura La Plante’s newest starring vehicle, “Finders Keepers” which wi’l open at the New Grand Theatre tonight. It was written as a short story and published in one of America’s loading periodicals. Universal saw it aad recommended it to Carl Laemmle, president, who agreed that it would make a delightful vehicle for Miss La Plante. Accordingly the story was purchased and it came to the scenario department for preparation for the screen Preparation J-’or the screen menus two things. First, it means the re-writing of the story in the present tense with dialogue eliminated and action substituted for it. Sometimes the actual sequence of events is changed for greater dramatic power.
