DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS PROPOSALS IS AUSTRALIA SYDNEY, Nov. 28. Following the provision of £1,500,000 from loan money under the Imperial migration agreement for the Lachlan River irrigation scheme, the New South Wales Government will cndeavoui to secure a further £1,000,000 to develop the Upper Clarence River district. Representatives of tho Im perial Government last week went through the Clarence Valley, and saw the country which was inspected several months age by the Development and Migialion Commission. Suggested works in the north ol New South Wales are the construction of a port at the Clarence mouth, to accommodate overseas vessels, the building of a railway through the Clarence Valley, a hydro-electric scheme, and the construction of roads.

If New South Wales claims her full share of the £34,000,000 to be made available under the agreement, nearly £14,000,000 will be provided at low interest for developmental works within the next few years.
