PARTIES AND JAZZ

NO TIME FOR STUDY ( Spacial “ Chroni-jle ' Service J AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. Apathy on the part of electrical apprentices to study, for examinations, is due to “too much jazz and too many pals and parties,” according to Air GAl. Strange, a member of the Thames Valley Power Board at the meeting of the Board. The result of recent examinations were referred to by the registrar of the Electric Wireman’s Regulations Board, who reported that the percentage of candidates who passed is lower than in any former examination. Officials of the Board said that every assistance was given apprentices to study for examinations, but the major ity had declined all offers. Air Strange: Too much jazz, too many parties and pals, and not enough study; that is the cause.
