A RE-TRIAL

CASE AGAINST McCONKEY VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY (Per Press Association.) . PALMERSTON N., Nov. 20. The Supreme Court to-day was occupied with the retrial of Robert McConkey, tvho was charged with indecent assault on his step-daughter, who was under 16 years of age. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty. At a previous trial accused was found guilty, but the Court of Appeal ordered a retrial on the grounds that certain evidence for the prosecution had been called after accused’s case had closed.
