ACCUSED GOES TO MENTAL z HOSPITAL f Australian Press Assn. 1 DANNEVIRKE, Nov. 20. When a cahrge of attempted suicide agaiust T. H. Hitchings was called before the Magistrate, Mr Miller, it was stated by the police that accused had been committed to a mental hospital and Sergeant Martin asked that the charge be withdrawn. Hitchings was the man who a few days ago at his home at Dannevirke, early in the morning, allegedly presented a loaded gun at Police-Sergeant Martin when he went to the house in response to an urgent summons owing to accused’s peculiar conduct. The request for the Withdrawal of the charge was granted.
