DASH FOR LIBERTY FROM PENTRIDGE [ Australian Press Assn I MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. Four shots were fired at a prisoner named J. Bailey, when he was r.tteinpting to escape from Pentridge gaol. He was captured after an exciting chase. The prisoner cut through the bars of his window with a hack saw, which he had secreted in the coll. The warders heard a noise and the alarm was raised. Another prisoner, Lonoard Cowley, tried to climb the wall and was nearing the top when he fell and broke a bone in a foot.
