WEST AUSTRALIAN GROUNDS NORWEGIANS’ PROFITABLE CRUISE. [ Australian Press Assn. J CAPE TOWN. Oct. 31. Four Norwegian whalers returned from the West Australian grounds. Captain Olsen, who has had a long experience in the Antarctic, said that he had never before done so well Twenty whales were sometimes caught in one day. They were smaller but fatter than the Antarctic whales. They produced 36,000 barrels of oil of a value of £lBO.OOO. Owing to the hazardous landing point at Cloates the sailors had not left the ships for three years.
After a cruise in the South Atlantic Captain Olsen will return in May to Australia.
