TRAIN HELD UP BY FALLEN BOULDERS
HEAVY RAIN IN THE NORTH [ Per Press Association. ) WHANGAREI. Nov. 1. The north-bound goods train which left Whangarei at 5.45 this morning, is held up between Ruatangata and Kauri by boulders, the largest of which measured twelve by nine by six feet and weighing many tons. These had been dislodged by heavy rain and crashed down a bush-clad slope 300 feet high. Several boulders weighed about two tons. It was expected to have the track clear this afternoon.
