A London message states that His Majesty gave an audience to Sir Dudley de Chair, Governor of New South Wales. A New York cable message states that Viscount Allenby received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws of New York University yesterday. President Coolidge has accepted the resignation of Mr Alanson Houghton, Ambassador in London. The Republicans will now nominate a United States Senator from New York. Guests at Foster’s Hotel are: Messrs W. Cahill, C. Chainbon, Mr and Mrs U. G. Wiliams (Wellington), Air and Airs W. McA Duncan (Ruanui), Alessrs Booker (Hawera), Jabon (Melbourne), and Bremiaaa (Sydney). Air Glynnc AL Lloyd, L 1.8., of the staff of Alessrs Callan and Gallaway, Dunedin, has been admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Co'urt. Mr Lloyd was for some years managing clerk for Air A. D. Brodie in this city.
