AT BELMONT LIN.J WANGANUI CLUB WILL CLOSE SEASON TOMORROW MIXED FOURSOMES MATCH At, the Belmont links to-morrow the season’s golf will be brought to a close, so far as thc Wanganui Golf Club is concerned, with a mixed foursomes match. Players will arrange their own partners and opponents. On account of the fact that the new standard scratch score is 5 strokes under the old bogey, the handicaps for this match will be one-half of thc combined ladies’ medal and men's bogey handicap, plus 5 strokes. It has been decided to present thc cup and trophies to the winners of the club competitions at the annual meeting on November 21, and not at the conclusion of the mixed fotrsomes match, as was done last year. CASTLECLIFF LADIES’ CLUB CLOSE OF THE SEASON Members of thc Castlccliff Ladies’ Golf Club closed the winter season on Saturday last when a mixed foursome was played. During the afternoon tea interval the trophies won (hiring tho year were presented by Air Dean, who in a happy I speech congratulated the club on the progress that had been made during 1928. Many now members had, he said, been enrolled and several players had taken part in open tournaments with thc result that the following had been successful: Airs Savage, Airs Short, [Airs Totty, Airs Cook, and Airs Broadhead, Aliss Broad head and Miss Quarterman.
