AMUSEMENTS. KING’S THEATRE TAIHAPE “PALS FIRST” Dolores Del Rio and Lloyd Hughes. A rattling good comedy Drama—one of the 10 per cent, good programmes. Dolores Del I?io plays the part which brought her to stardom. “PALS FIRST’’ Has to do with the adventures of three crooks, one of whom masquerades as the owner of an ancestral southern home of aristocracy. With his two crook pals, he is welcomed as the returned master of the establishment. The film boasts one of the best surprise endings of the season. The tables are notly reversed, but turned upside down. Lloyd Hughes, Alec Francis and George Cooper, as the triumvirate of tramps carry the male honours of the production, supported by a strong cast of favourites. In play and book form, “Pals First” achieved immense popularity. To-morow Night—Great Triple Programme—“Sharpshooters” (a champion), “Bachelor Brides,” and “The Collegians.”
