A POSTPONED FLIGHT
LOOKING FOR A GIRL * ‘RED-BLOODED AND RICH.” NEW YORK, Sept. 10. “A red-blooded American girl, with lots of money," did not reply to an advertisement, calling for such an individual to finance a dirigible flight across the Atlantic by a man named Bert Campbell. The latter was described as “an Australian aviator." and employed as a watchman on the White Star Liner Cedric, which has just left this port for Liverpool. During the vessel’s stay in port, Campbell was awarded nationwide publicity. Campbell is said to have announced that he spent two wjoeks in Germany ami had his eye on a nice little dirigible, with which he' would cross the ocean if he could get a rich American girl to sponsor the flight. Further, he would take her with him. The scheme was also designed to impress Campbell’s employer, for he stated that he intended to drop a rope ladder from the airship while in mid-ocean, and descend to the deck of the Cedric to pay compliments to the master. Meantime, Campbell’s scheme is postponed pending the arrival of the American girl.
