UNUSUAL ACCIDENT
FARMER'S NARROW ESCAPE. [ Special “Chronicle'’ Service. 1 AUCKLAND. Sept. 14. An unusual accident i reported from Krutaia. During the stock sale there Edward Panther, a well-known farmer, had a narrow escape from death. He was standing on the rails of a cattle pen. when the rail collapsed and he fell on the horns of a cow. The frightened animal tossed its head violently to get rid of the unusual encumbrance, and one horn was driven between Panther’s ribs, narrowly missing his heart. Latest reports are satisfactory.
