SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs E. J. Wilson, and Mrs D. B. McLean (Kakatahi) will return early in the coming week after spending some months at Kawau, Rotorua and Napier. Mrs Alex. Don, who has been the guest of her mother Mrs W. G. Patersou (Manaia) left Wanganui last evening for Morrinsvillc. Airs E. Vcale and Miss Olive Vgale, Heathcote Valley (Christchurch) are staying in Wanganui. Mr and Mrs Leon Gordon left on Thursday for Wellington en route to Sydney. Mrs W. Summerell (Gonville) has returned from Australia. Miss Olga Stephens (Awahuri) is in town for the races. Mr E. R. Turton, manager of the Hakataramca station, South Canterbury, and Misses Margaret and Vera Turton, were in Wanganui for the races. Miss Bertha Cox of the nursing staff of the Pukcora Sanatorium, Waipukurau is tiic guest of Mrs N. Caiman. Mrs Chapman, Fromont Street, has returned from visiting her daughter, Mrs Littlejohn, Hawke’s Bay. Mr and Airs O. Kember, and the Misses Kember, are Wellington visitors to Wanganui. Airs G. Alorris (Alarton) is the guest of her sister, Airs R. Cameron. Airs J. Alartin, is a Wairarapa visitor to Wanganui. Air and Airs Haldane are Hastings visitors to Wanganui. Airs G. Collins (Mangamahu.) has returned from Wellington. Aliss G. Nalder is staying in Dannevirke.

FAREWELL AFTERNOON The president and members of the Wanganui Branch of the Trained Nurses’ Association, entertained Aliss Bagley and her friends at an afternoon tea at the “Elric.” 1 Miss Bagley, matron of St. Helen’s Hospital is leaving Wanganui to continue nursing in Wellington. The president- Aliss AlcKenny, spoke on behalf of those present in eulogistic terms of Aliss Bagley, who had done much to uplift nursing in Wanganui. Robcr son (chair), Hine, Stevenson, Bullock Douglas, Robinson, Blyth, Jack, Cunningham, Palmer Jones, Boyes, Wickham, C. Ross, Aligs Stanford and Air G. Spriggens. The Stewart Karitane Home report stated: No. of babies admitted 13; No. of mothers admitted 3; No. of babies discharged 8; No. of mothers discharged 1.
