POLO MATCHES ON THEATRE STAGE
NOVELTY FOR THE LONDON COLISSEUM Received Sept. 12. 11 p.m. [ Australian Press Assn.—United Service. ] LONDON, Sept. 12. Seven retired army captains have been engaged to give a demonstration of polo matches on a huge stage at the Cohsscum Theatre. The ponies are insured for £5OOO. The imitation turf field will be laid and roped off to prevent the ponies falling on the orchestra. The games will consist of two eight-minute chukkas, two players a side. It is recalled that when the Colisseum opened an attempt was “nadc to enact the Derby upon a revolving stage, but a horse was precipitated into the orchestra and its jockey was killed.
