Mrs I. Duncan, of Wanganui East, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs Johnson who has been staying in Hawera as the guest of he sistei, Mrs Good, arrived in Wanganui yestenday and is the guest of her sister, Miss M. Harrison. Wickstecd Street. Miss H. Rogers is spending a few • .days in town as the guest of Mrs Wot- . ten at Gonvillc. Miss E. Craig, Wickstecd Street, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Last night Mrs F. J. H. Nancarrow was hostess at a delightful bridge party at her home in Plymouth Street. Mrs Nancarrow received her guests wearing a smart frock of coral pink georgette, finished with a diamante buckle- Among those present w 7 ere Mrs G. Mcßeth, Mrs D. Wilson, Mrs M. Earle. Miss Cohen, Mrs Collins, Giblin, Mrs E. W. Pearce, Miss N. Giblin, Mrs T. W. Pearce, Miss N. Watt and Miss V. Bayly. Miss Alix Strachan returned last evening from a holiday in Wellington. Mrs G. B--Bradshaw, of Karori, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs J. Wells, No. 3 Line. In addition to those mentioned in yesterday’s “Chronicle * Nurse O’Meara of the staff of the Wanganui Hospital, passed the recent State final examination "with honours. Mrs R- Lilburn, who has been staying in Wellington, returns to her home to-day. Mr and Mrs Snelling are visiting Wanganui, and are staying at Br&eburn Hotel. Mrs W. J. Polson. Dominion president of the Women’s Division of tho Farmers’ Union, who has been staying in Wellington to attend tho annual conference, returned to her home. Mr, Mrs and Miss Lawrence, of Wellington arc guests at Foster’s Hotel. Yesterday afternoon Mrs R. Brown, of St. John’s Hill gave a very pleasant bridge party to entertain her sister, Mrs K. Kirkcaldic., of Wellington. Among those present were Mrs A. Hatrick. Mrs Kircaldie, Airs Russell, Airs A. D. Brodie, Airs Scanncll, Airs Hutchison and Airs Kecsing. Air and Airs Hull, of Wellington, are guests at Foster 's Hotel. Airs G. Coward is staying in Palmerston North as the guest of Aliss Gibbons. Air and Airs Wright and Aliss Wright, who have been spending a few days in Wanganui as the guests of Airs T. R. Wright, have returned to Levin. Airs J. Higgio is staying at Makirikiri as the guest of her daughter. Mrs Vaughan. Aliss Barnet is Laying with her parents in Blenheim. On Thursday afternoon Airs Scanncll, entertained sonic of her friends at a bridge party. The drawing room looked pretty with its spring flowers. Airs Scannell wore a smart Black frock and a Chinese coat of blue crepe ide chine. Among those present were Airs Giblin, Airs Kecsing, Airs Cutfield. Airs Kircaldie (Wellington). Mrs Boyes, Airs R. Brown. ATrs Turnbull, and Airs Adams.
