CRITICISM OF POOL’S POLICY

The sugar producers’ pool has decided to stock the crop for 1928 on the estates. The pool refused to accept £l7 10s per ton for superior quality and is
now much criticised for not selling earlier, when a higher price prevailed.
Some Chinese sugar factories have joined the union of employers of the sugar industry. A Dutch company has re-bought the Japanese sugar factory at East Java.
