The Danucvirke men’s hockey representatives, by drawing yesterday with Taranaki in the match for the Norden Cup, maintained their record of not having been beaten this season. This was the fourth challenge match this season and they have defeated Wairoa and Wairarapa. challengers for the cup, and drawn with Wanganui for the Winter Shield, held by Dannevirke. Yesterday’s contest took place on good ground, and was fast and exciting each side scoring a goal. The holders’ score came towards the end of the first spell, when, as a result of clever play, a corner hit was awarded and Mclntosh glanced the ball into the net. Dannevirke had the better of the play in the second half, but through a vigorous breakaway, Irwin netted for the challengers, after a struggle in the circle.
