WANGANUI SALE TOTAL CLEARANCE Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report a good yarding of sheep with a light entry of cattie and pigs at their sale yesterday. The sheep section was mainly comprised of hoggets. A good lino of 500 odd wethers sold at 30s 3d, medium wether hoggets sold well at .25s 6d. The few cattle yarded were Jersey yearling heifers, and sold well at late rates. There was a total clearance in all sections: — Sheep.—Good m.s. hoggets 29s Gd; good wether hoggets to 30s 3d; medium wether hoggets to 25s 6d; m.s. hoggets (small) 15s to 17s 4<l Cattle.—Jersey yearling heifers £4 £4 4s to £4 10s; Jersey cross yearling heifers £2 13s, £2 15s to £3 7s; dairy cows £6 to £7 10s; springing heifers £6 17s 6d to £7 17s 6d. Figs.—Bacpners to £3; porkers (good) to £2 ss; porkers (light) 27s to 325; stores 20s Gd to 25s Gd.
AT ADDINGTON SMALL ENTRIES [ Per Press Association. J CHRISTCHURCH. July 25. At the Addington market entries were small in all sections to-day except fat sheep. Store sheep.—The smallest entry of the season, being mostly hoggets, which sold well. Extra ewe .hoggets 30s to 325, good half bred owe hoggets 23s to 26s 3rd, good cross-cred wether hoggets 24s to 26s 6d, medium crossbred wether hoggets 21s to 235. backward and inferior hoggets 17s to 19s medium 4, 6 and 8-tooth half-bred ewes 26s 6d to 2‘Js 6d, backward 4, 6 and 8-tootli half-bred ewes to 25s Gd. medium ditto threequarter-bred ewes to 28s. aged and inferior ewes 16s to J Bs, best 1, 6 and 8-toot.li cross-bred wethers to 33s 4d, good 4, 6 and 8tooth half-bred wethers 30s to 325. Fat sheep.—A heavy entry and a good sale for heavy sheep with a slight advance. Lighter sorts were cheaper, particularly the older ewes-

Fat cattle. —A small entry of 358 head compared with 620 last week, and 608 the week before. A sharp rise for the best beef of 35s per head, medium 30s awl inferior 20s. Best beef made 41s Gd to 44s per lOOlbs, extra to 465, medium to good 38s to 41s, heavy 36s Gd to 40s, medium quality 34s to 37s 6d. best cow 35s to 395, and indifferent down to 27s 6»d. Extra prime heavy steers to £2l 2s Gd, prime heavy steers £l7 10s to £2O. medium weight, prime steers £l5 10s to £l7, ordinary quality steers £l2 to £l5, light steers £8 10s to £ll 10s, extra prime heifers to £l5 7s Gd. prime heifers £l2 10s to £l4, medium heifers £lO to £l2, light heifers £6 10s to £9 10s, extra prime cows to £l6 2s 6d, prime cows £ll to £l3 ss, ordinary cows £8 10s to £lO 15s, aged cows £g 10s to £8 5s
Vealcrs.—Another very small entry and a keen sale. Best 12 to 18 months sorts made from £7 15s to £9 6s, good vealcrs to £7 10s, others £2 10s to £6 10s.
Store cattle. —Only a few cows were forward and nothing was quotable. Best second to fourth calvers £8 10s to £lO 15s, medium £6 10s to £B. heifers £4 to £8 and cows in profit £3 to £5 10s. Fat pigs.—Baconers were slightly firmer, and porkers were unchanged. Choppers 35s to £7 18s Gd, baconers £3 6s to £4 12s 6d. Average price per lb Gd to 6}d. Porkers 37s to 61s 6d, average per lb 7Jd to 8dStore pigs.—-A large entry which considering its size sold satisfactorily. Weaners 13s to 17s. stores 16s to 345, extra large to 38s 6d.
