In the thir.d round of the women’s doubles Misses Boyd and Akhurst beat Misses Shaw and Watson 7—5, 6—4. Mrs O’Hara Wood and Miss Bickerton beat Mrs Edwards and Miss Stokes Rain stopped play in the men’s quar-ter-final when Lott and Hennessy were leading Moon and Cummings 6 —l, 6—2; also in the second round of the mixed doubles when Crawford and Miss Akhurst were leading from Kehrling and Fraulein Aussem 7—6. lu the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles, Cochet and Brugnon beat Timmer and Fisher 6—3, 6—3, 6 —2; Tilden anl Hunter beat Crole-Rees and Eames 4—6, 6—l, 6—3, 6 —2.
