IS FAMINE FEARED?

RUSSIA BUYS WHEAT HUGE PURCHASE MADE. [ Times Cables. ] Received Julv 4,1 G p.m. LONDON, July 4. The Bolshevist Government’s extensive wheat buying in the world’s grain markets during the last few days is taken to indicate fears of a serious scarcity of food in Russia. It is estimated the Government has bought between 150.000 to 200,000 tons of wheat, representing about two and a-ha If million sterling. Beyond the fact that the grain is sold for cash, dealers profess not to know precisely how the payments arc being provided; no credit is being given.
