AMUSEMENTS AND MEETINGS

MUNICIPAL PICTURES. Balancing fast action and thrills with plenty of romance, and the whole leavened with some of the best comedy ever seen will be witnessed in “The No Gun Man,” which will be shown at' the Opera House on Saturday afternoon and evening. This production, starring the popular Lefty Ftynn, iormer Yale lootball hero, will enhance the prestige of this actor, whose screen personality is fast endearing him to thousands of movie patrons- Harry Garson, who directed the picture, has assembled an excellent cast, headed by Gloria Grey, to support Air Flynn. Other featured players are William J. Quinn, James Gordon Russell, Bob Reeves, Harry McCabe and a new screen “find” in the Iverson of Raymond Turner, a laughable negro comic. One leading man isn’t enough for Pola Negri. She has emotion enough for two in “The Secret Hour,” her latest Paramount starring picture, which will be screened on Saturday night at the Opera House and not in the afternoon. Kenneth Thomson and Jean Hersholt unite in making love to Miss Negri, serving to keep the final choice in suspense until the last scene. The story has a background of the orange grove country, and concerns a romantic intrigue that has an unexpected climax. Hersholt begins the courtship, but thinks it will further his interest to send Kenneth Thomson’s picture instead of his own when he proposes to Miss Negri by mail. The trouble starts right there- Rowland V. Lee wrote the story for the screen, and also directed it.
