Virgo Bay reports that Lundborg. pilot of the aeroplane which rescued General Nobile, is himself stranded on an icefloe owing to his ’plane overturning when landing. The Swedish Government has sent food supplies to the Italia’s crew. me search for Captain Amundsen is still without result. Advices from Stockholm state that arrangements arc being made to despatch a Fokker plane also a de Haviland Moth, to the rescue of the Italia s crew. The machines will b-’ specially fitted to land on small ice areasIt is reported from Spitzbergen that the Swedish mechanic is willing to descend by parachute to the icefloe to assist Lundborg to repair his aeroplane. Lundborg has asked that spare parts be dropped by means of a parachute.
