ASYLUM ESCAPEE
AN EGYPTIAN PRINCE NAHAS PASHA IMPLICATED. [ Australian Press Assn. ] CAIRO, June 24. A sensation has been caused by the publication of a document allegedly signed in February, 1927, by Nahas Pasha in his capacity of lawyer and legal agent to Prince Ahmed Seifeddin, who escaped from a private asylum at Ticehurst, Sussex, in 1925. whereby Nahas and two political associates were to receive £135,000 if they were successful in securing an annulment of the interdictment in favour of the Prince. It is recalled that the Prince was sentenced to imprisonment for shooting at King Fuad in 1892. He was thereafter declared insane and was mysteriously brought to England, whence he escaped.
