RANGIWAHIA

FOOTBALL. I Special "Chronic!®” Service. ] On Saturday afternoon the senior team played against Apiti for their second match for the Beard Cup Competition. As it was raining most of the time the game, although fast, did not reach a very high standard. It Was really a contest between the Apiti backs and the Rangiwahia forwards. Just after the comemncement of tho game Johnson kicked a penalty for the home team. The of the first half was taken up by Rangiwahia attacking; but they had not the “finish” that results in a score. At half-timfi the score was unaltered. About ten minutes after the changeover, Apiti followed out their usual game by commencing to attack —ahd kept going at a fast pace until the end. From a movement of the backs Elliott Opened the scoring for Apiti. Shortly afterwards Apiti made the score 6—3 with a penalty. In spite of the revival of interest in the local team, Kerney again scored for Apiti, the try being converted. The game ended with the scores unaltered, Apiti Winning by 11—3. Mr Shannon, of Waituna, ably refereed. The junior team won from Colyton by default. CONCERT.
