MR. VERNON IRVING PASSES SON OF FAMOUS INDIAN ARMY OFFICER. f Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, June 22. Mr Vernon Irving died at his residence to-day after a brief illness. He was born in Kent, England, in 1872, his father being the late Captain Irving of the Indian Army at the time of the mutiny. Mr Irving was widely known in the city, he being the Wellington manager of the Yorkshire Insurance Company, Ltd., since 1917. Prior to his arrival in New Zealand, he was for many years surveyor to the Liverpool, London and Globe Insurance Company, Ltd., in London. Mr Irving only recently returned from a trip to England.
