Aviation in the Future
Congested streets, the saving of time, low price and economy of operation are but a few of the reasons why the aeroplane will be a popular and common means of transportation within the next decade, declares Lieut.-Colonel Charles J. Glidden, the first motorist to circle the globe, who visited Auckland a few years ago.
Within 10 years, Coronel Glidden predictg, it will not be unusual to sec mon and women flying from their homes in the suburbs to the densely-settled metropolis, and landing their tiny helicoptic aeroplanes on the flat roofs of skyscrapers and in convenient, parts and the city common. When people go out to visit their friends, instead of taking their umbrellas, they will take their sport model aeroplanes.
