Air Hurrisun Cook, uf Wellington, is acting a- producer for “High Jinks” for tne Wanganui Operatic Society. “High Jinks” seems a popular selection this year for the amateur operatic societies. It has been chosen by Hamilton, Wanganui, and Alasterton. r fhe Palmerston North Operatic Society’s past season .leaves very little margin to work upon, and at the annual meeting the need for care in th« selection of the next production was stressed. “A Florentine Tragedy,” by Oscar Wilde, will be produced at Auckland, under the direction uf Air Theodore L'resizc, un Wednesday and Thursday. The cast will include Ethel Rae, Theodore Tresize, Coralie S. AfcKellar, and Arthur Fryer-Uaisher. -Messrs Owen Cardson and J. David-son-Baxter recently produced “The Arcadians” in Strati ord, and .have just conclwded the most successful season in the history of the Waipukurau Operatic Society with “A Country Girl.” of which five performances were given. Messrs Cardson and Davidson-Baxter are now in Hawcra to produce “A Musical Extravaganza,” with excerpts from grand opera, for the Hawera Operatic Society.
